Scherzinger recalled a moment last year when his outspoken Christian views sparked backlash on social media. The day after the 2024 presidential election, the comedian and podcaster commented on Russell Brand’s Instagram post, writing that he liked the “Make Jesus First Again” hat seen in the video.

“Where do I get this hat?!” Scherzinger wrote, adding praying hands and red heart emojis. But the comment came under heavy criticism online, as Brand’s hat was inspired by President Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan.

Brand, who converted to Christianity at this point, also expressed his support for Trump’s candidacy. Scherzinger deleted the post shortly after commenting and issued a public apology on the platform for any inadvertent association with Trump.
