Sales of pvt non-financial public cos rise 7.8% in FY25: RBI data

The Reserve Bank has published data on financial performance of NGNF public limited companies during 2024-25 based on audited annual accounts of 7,992 selected companies reported in Indian Accounting Standards (Ind-AS) format for three accounting years from 2022-23 to 2024-25.
“Service sector sales were mainly driven by expansion in sales in ‘Transportation and warehousing services’ and ‘information and communications’ sectors,” RBI said. he said.
In parallel with the increase in sales growth, operating expenses increased by 8.4 percent in the 2024-25 period due to the high growth in production expenses.
On profits, it was stated that the increase in total expenses due to higher raw material expenses has led to a slowdown in operating profits at the aggregate level from 15.3 percent to 8.4 percent in 2024-25.
“After-tax profit increased significantly by 23.1 per cent in 2024-25, driven by strong non-operating income and moderate tax expenses. Service sector companies recorded much higher after-tax profit growth (40.2 per cent) compared to the manufacturing sector (12.8 per cent),” the central bank said. 2024-25.
Additionally, gross fixed asset formation remained strong, accounting for 41.1 per cent of total fund utilization in 2024-25.
