Keir Starmer attacks Nigel Farage in furious GB News rant | Politics | News

Sir Keir Starmer has launched a fierce attack on Nigel Farage, accusing the Reform UK leader of “selling lies”. The Prime Minister was asked what his message was to those who thought the Clacton MP would make a better Prime Minister.

Sir Keir told GB News: “My message is that Nigel Farage has said a lot of things that are not true and have not borne fruit. That’s why he stood in front of your audience in the Brexit referendum and said, if we leave the EU, immigration will go down. Yes, it hasn’t, the Boris Johnson wave has quadrupled.”

“He said if we left the EU you’d have £350 million a week for the NHS. But that hasn’t been the case.

“And he said that if we leave the EU we will eliminate a lot of red tape. Try to explain this to everyone who works and does business with the EU.

“So there are a lot of slippery things being said about Nigel Farage but when you hold them up to the light you see they are not actually true.

“And there is no way to solve this country’s problems by selling lies.”

Sir Keir’s attack comes at a time when Reformation is consistently ahead in national opinion polls.

New research from More in Common of 16,000 Britons has found that if a general election were held now, the rebel party would win 381 seats.

Mr Farage has promised that Reform will launch a £5m spending blitz ahead of local elections in May.

Pressure on Sir Keir will increase if Labor gets poor results in the Scottish, Welsh parliaments and English councils.
