Pickpocket uses bizarre technique to steal victim’s phone | News

A Nottingham street thief was caught on CCTV performing a bizarre dance to distract his victim before stealing his mobile phone.

The pickpocket approached a man on Clumber Street just after 7.30am on November 16.

She greeted the man with a fist bump and began talking before dancing and jumping up and down, placing one of her legs between the victim’s legs.

Police believe the thief pretended to be drunk to trick the victim into thinking he was just in a cheerful mood.

Inspector Paul Gummer said: “This is a cynical attempt to divert attention away from the pockets of the victim where the pickpocketing took place.”
