Serial burglar suspect poses as girlfriend to elderly men in Malibu, L.A. County

Detectives are searching for other victims in Malibu and other parts of Los Angeles County linked to a woman accused of posing as a romantic friend to elderly men before robbing them of their homes.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department identified the suspect as Adva Lavie, also referred to as Mia Ventura Shoshana or Shana. Investigators said Lavie used social media dating platforms and apps to communicate with his victims and gained their trust before stealing from their homes.

Authorities said Lavie, described as a woman approximately 6 feet tall, 104 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, was known to drive a black Porsche SUV and a white Mercedes-Benz sedan.

Detectives from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station said Lavie was involved in a series of residential burglaries targeting elderly men. Investigators are urging anyone who may have had a similar interaction with him to come forward.
