Boston pro-Palestinian protest turns into violent riot, 13 arrested: officials

Between 200 and 300 people attended a demonstration in downtown Boston on Tuesday night, after what started as a pro-Palestinian protest quickly turned into a riot.
A total of 13 people were arrested after police said people in the group became violent towards police officers. According to police, the agitators also blocked an intersection.
“When officers attempted to move the group to the sidewalk to allow emergency vehicles to pass, protesters surrounded police vehicles, kicked the vehicles’ doors, and resisted efforts to disperse them. During this time, several officers were assaulted, including one who was shot in the face. Protesters also set off smoke devices and flares, further endangering officers and bystanders,” the Boston Police Department said in a statement. he said.
Police said more officers were deployed to the area “as the violence increased” while the agitators “continued to resist dispersing.”
