A royal commentator has blasted comparisons between the Prince and Princess of Wales and David and Victoria Beckham. Princess Catherine was on her latest cover Times magazine, which featured a cover story featuring various allegations about the future Queen, made anonymously and anonymously by those closest to her.

Part of the story cites a “well-placed source” close to Prince William and his wife, talking about how well they understand their brand and comparing them to the famous couple. But the comparison wasn’t very good. Daily Mail columnist Amanda Patell called it “cheap”.

He added: “One source goes so far as to compare William and Kate to ‘dear old David and Victoria Beckham’ in terms of valuing their respective brands.

“A strong marriage is undoubtedly important for the royal family, but do we really want to cheapen our future King and Queen by making them look like the Beckhams?

“Is this really how William and Kate want to be perceived in this cruel world of social media?”
