UK wakes up to snow on Friday: Your photos

As the UK continues to be gripped by Arctic winds, parts of the country from Shetland to the south coast of England have been blanketed in snow over the past few days.
Thursday night’s showers of sleet and snow created a visual feast for our BBC Weather Watchers on Friday morning, and for some the wintry views brought photo opportunities to come on Saturday as well.
The downside of winter weather was slippery roads, pavements and the inevitable disruption to travel. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning until midday on Saturday, with multiple snow and ice warnings in place for the coming days.
Cold conditions are expected to continue day and night into next week. Overnight snowfall could cause disruptions to the first proper commute of the year on Monday. The clash of Atlantic weather fronts with cold air may also cause other problems as we move forward into the week.
