Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay will continue his public outreach activities with a limited-access, indoor format event in Kancheepuram district on Sunday, November 23, 2025.
This marks a revised public engagement strategy adopted by the party nearly two months after 41 people died in a stampede at a political rally addressed by Mr. Vijay.
According to party sources, Mr. Vijay will attend a public launch event at a private college in Sunguvarchathiram on the outskirts of Chennai, where he will address supporters from Kancheepuram district at 11 am on Sunday. The meeting will be held indoors. Entry will be limited to 2,000 registered participants with party-issued QR code ID cards.
Previously, TVK had filed a petition with the Salem City Police Commissioner seeking permission to hold a public meeting, different from the usual roadshow format, at one of three locations the party has identified for December 4.
However, the police did not give permission as December 4 fell on the eve of the Karthigai Deepam festival and police personnel were deployed to the neighboring Tiruvannamalai district for security arrangements.
