‘Law & Order: SVU’ features immigration officers blocking rape investigation

NBC’s long -standing crime drama “Law & Edit: The Unit of Special Victims”, trying to arrest an illegal immigrant witness, including the police officers who prevented the rape research.
On Thursday, the “In The Wind” section was followed by a building supervisor called Jorge Ruiz, played by Juan Francisco Villa, who became a key witness in describing a rape suspect. However, Ruiz’s illegal status complicates the issues after raiding a migration and customs enforcement (ICE) building due to his past as a convicted criminal.
Accordingly Media Watchdog NewsbustersRuiz was previously arrested for a “false accusation” and only “caught a drug scanning”. In the episode, he defends himself to the captain Olivia Benson, played by Mariska Hargitay.

“I have been in this country for 22 years, Ru Ruiz said. “I have a job. I – I’m really good. I paid my taxes. I’m sending my family back to my family. And I was arrested 15 years ago. But – but it was something I didn’t do.”
Benson tries to persuade Ruiz to stay and testify, but he states that he despises the idea of doing something good for Ruiz ” [the] state.”
“So my choices – hiding and hiding me and hoping that they never find me or they will leave all my life and return. And now do you want me to do something nice for my government? Why do we do this?” Said Ruiz.

Benson protected Ruiz into custody, but he was briefly arrested for interfering with a federal operation after trying to catch him in the region.
Ice agents tried to arrest Ruiz during the court proceedings before testifying to hang out by the judge.
“No, not in my courtroom. Jimmy, tell them they can wait outside, but they’re not welcome here.” He said.
Ruiz is given the so -called “Snitch Visa” to remain legally informant in the USA.
