Jorge Costa: Porto’s Champions League-winning captain dies aged 53

Between 2002-2004, Fenerbahce Director Mourinho, who ruled Costa in Porto, fought with tears at a press conference before the third round of tie against Feyenoord before the Champions League on Wednesday and gave tribute to his former captain.
Mourinho said, “If he could talk to me now, ‘Press your press conference, play the game tomorrow and win the game – forget me.” He said.
“I will try to do my job today and tomorrow, and then I will cry.”
He graduated from the Costa Porto Academy and took 324 for the club.
Champions League, UEFA Cup and Eight Primeira Liga championship, including the leaving the championship in 2005 won 24 cups before leaving.
Deco, who is also part of Porto’s Champions League -winning side, said Costa is a “legendary captain” and refers to the name Bicho, which means insect in Portuguese.
“Today, Portugal football and FC Porto are losing one of the biggest symbols,” he sent Deco Instagram.
“Jorge Costa was embodied by Porto’s soul and determination.
“It was an honor to share so many titles and joy with you. Your name will be remembered forever. Condolence to the whole family. Always seek, ‘Bicho’.”
Another former teammate Pepe said: “I wish your whole family the deepest condolences.
“Your dedication and heritage will always live in the unique history of FC Porto’s victories. Late in peace, Jorge Costa.”
In 2000, Costa won Portugal Golden Ball, a reward for the best player of the league.
Costa started his management career with Braga and said that the club “shook the entire national sports community”.
“Braga can do nothing but share the enormous sorrow felt by his family, friends and all FC Porto organization.”
After the shelter in Braga, Olhanense and Academica and Portugal, Costa directed teams in Romania, Cyprus, Tunisia, India and Gabon.
