IndiGo Issues Travel Advisory, Dense Fog May Disrupt Flights in North India

New Delhi: IndiGo on Saturday issued a travel advisory warning passengers of possible flight disruptions due to early morning fog expected in Delhi and several parts of north India on Sunday.

The airline said reduced visibility in the early hours could impact flight operations and potentially lead to delays or schedule changes.

IndiGo said in a statement that its operations teams will remain fully prepared throughout the night and will closely monitor weather conditions minute by minute to minimize inconvenience to passengers. The airline also thanked passengers for their patience during seasonal weather disruptions.

“Fog is expected to affect visibility in Delhi and some parts of northern India in the early morning hours. Visibility may drop suddenly during these hours, which may affect flight operations,” the advisor said, adding that passenger safety remains the top priority.

IndiGo has advised passengers to check the latest flight status through its official link before heading to the airport. Passengers whose flights are affected can rebook or request a refund through the airline’s website.

Reiterating its commitment to keep passengers informed, the airline said it would remain vigilant to ensure smooth travel despite challenging weather conditions and thanked passengers for their understanding.

Dense fog is common in northern India during winter months and often disrupts air, rail and road transport. Earlier on Saturday, 66 arriving and departing flights were canceled due to poor visibility at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

On the same day, Delhi Airport issued a passenger alert stating that low visibility procedures continued although all flight operations were operating normally.

In a statement at 7 am, Delhi Airport advised passengers to contact their respective airlines for the latest flight updates.

Meanwhile, at Srinagar Airport, four flights, including three flights to and from Amritsar and Delhi, were canceled due to adverse weather conditions in these cities.
