‘No one stood up for a pregnant woman’: Made In Chelsea’s Tabitha Willett sparks debate as she criticises ‘commuting men on their phones’ for not offering her a train seat – despite wearing a ‘baby on board’ badge

Tabitha Willett sparked controversy when she criticized men boarding the train for not offering her a train seat despite having a ‘baby on board’ badge.
The 33-year-old Made In Chelsea star, who is expecting her second child, took to Instagram on Tuesday to tell London commuters to ‘do better’.
Sharing a short video of a busy train showing lots of people sitting and standing in front of their phones, Tabitha wrote: ‘I don’t want to moan but…
‘On my way back from school, a car full of men were talking on their phones and no one objected to a pregnant woman with a badge or an elderly couple next to me.
‘Make London better’.
Later, after a ‘female’ follower criticized her by saying ‘being pregnant is not a disability’, she responded to a fan in a video reflecting on her pregnancy experiences.

The 33-year-old Made In Chelsea star, who is expecting her second child, shared a short video on Instagram showing many people sitting and standing in front of their phones on a busy train.
Tabitha said: ‘Honestly, if I was struggling to get pregnant and stand up, I would go there and ask a capable body: ‘I’m so sorry I’m pregnant, can I sit down until the next stop?’ But luckily I am fully capable.
‘With Ottilie [her first child]but I was pretty much on bed rest and physically unable to stand up or take steps on my own, towards the end I was given crutches.
‘Stuff like that is why I think yes pregnancy is not a disability but you don’t know and I don’t think there’s any harm in asking. That’s my point of view.’
Transport For London says: ‘The ‘baby on board’ badge is a free badge for pregnant passengers to discreetly signal to other passengers that they need a seat, helping to reduce awkwardness and encouraging people to offer their seats on busy buses, tube trains and trams.
‘This works as a visual cue to alert others to the need to sit, especially for people who do not appear pregnant but need to sit down due to fatigue, morning sickness or other pregnancy-related discomfort.’
Tabitha announced in December that she was expecting her second child with fiancé Harry Hoare.
She is mother to six-year-old daughter Ottilie, with whom she lives with former partner Fraser Carruthers.

Later, after a ‘female’ follower criticized her for saying ‘being pregnant is not a disability’, she responded to a fan in a video reflecting on her pregnancy experiences.
She said: ‘Honestly, if I was struggling to get pregnant and stay afloat I’d go there and ask for a capable body but luckily I’m perfectly capable.’
This comes after Tabitha revealed how she knew she was marrying fiancé Harry after their first date lasted an incredible three days.
The pregnant star revealed she started dating Harry at the beginning of last year ‘after sliding into his DMs’.
The couple had been together for just 10 months before Harry got down on one knee during a family holiday to Dubai in October, and they announced it weeks later.
Tabitha revealed that she and Harry had known each other “for years” before getting together romantically.
Writing for The Wedding Edition, she said: ‘We stayed in touch but were never close. Actually, it was January 1, 2025, when I was at my most single, after I put on my vision board of the year I wanted to find love…
‘I responded to an Instagram story saying we should have a drink and catch up ASAP. He likes to tell the story of ‘I slid into his DMs’.
‘We went for a drink, our first date lasted three days and after he left I called my best friend Ollie Locke and said, ‘I’m going to marry this man.’
‘It doesn’t sound very romantic but I guess when you’re in your 30s and as parents (Harry also has a daughter) you want to make sure you don’t waste any time. This was something we discussed from the beginning. We adapted to everything and everything seemed so simple. It’s not full of fire or passion, just easy.’
When Harry proposed to Tabitha, he popped the question with a ‘placeholder ring’ and she was wearing a long white dress with a cape.
During their stay, Tabitha and Harry were staying at The Lana, a new hotel that is part of the Dorchester Collection.

Just days after the engagement was confirmed, Tabitha said on Instagram that a “modest little wedding” was planned for January
Ahead of the proposal, they were enjoying the sunset at the rooftop bar before returning to their rooms so Harry could ‘grab something’ before dinner.
Tabitha explained that when the door opened, their suite was filled with rose petals and candles, and a table had been set for a private dinner on the balcony.
The couple kicked off the year with a luxury babymoon in Paris for £1,800 (€2,170) a night’s stay at the five-star Hôtel Plaza Athénée.
Tabitha, who returns to the long-running E4 show ahead of its 29th series in March, announced the pregnancy news to her Instagram followers.
She posted an adorable video of herself getting a scan at the hospital with her daughter Otille by her side.
Just days after the engagement was confirmed, Tabitha said on Instagram that a “modest little wedding” was planned for January.
Sharing a photo of her wedding dress, she wrote: ‘Here it goes… We’re actually having a simple, small wedding in January, so these are a lot of wedding dresses but so much fun to get in the mood.’
Tabitha’s engagement news will likely come as a surprise to Made In Chelsea fans, who recently watched her brief romance with co-star Arman Pouladian-Kari play out on the big screen.
Tabitha first joined the Made In Chelsea cast during their annual trip to Croatia in 2018.
She and ex Fraser, who is a friend of Prince Harry, were together for four years after meeting when she was hired as marketing manager at private members’ club Albert’s.
The couple, who planned to get married in Miami in 2019 and at the Hurlingham Club in London the following July, had to cancel their wedding due to the pandemic.
But in October 2020, a year after Ottilie’s birth, they announced their separation.
