Malaysia drops corruption charges against ex-PM Najib

The Supreme Court of Malaysia was imprisoned in a long -standing case containing the 1MDB unit painted with an old scandal, but was imprisoned for money laundering charges, but was not acquitted.
Since August 2022, NAJİB has been in prison after being found guilty of corruption and money laundering from SRC International, a former subsidiary of Berhad.

Najib also faced three separate money laundering charges allegedly abused by more than 27 million ringgitin SRC.
Lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah told journalists, the case, since 2019, he had stopped repeatedly due to procedural delays, and Kuala Lumpur asked the Supreme Court of Supreme Court to be acquitted by Najib.
The lawyer said that the decision was a fair decision, because after the prosecution was ready to continue, he was free to reinstall the charges.
“So (NAJIB) does not expect or as they say, no longer hangs on the head of the Damocles sword.” He said.
Friday’s decision was to reduce 1MDB -related charges against Necib. Last year, a court allowed the former Premier and the country to become another discharged without Aquittal demand due to procedural delays in corruption against the former Treasury chief.
In 2023, he was acquitted for 1MDB on charges of tampering with a government supervision.
NAJİB is still waiting for a decision at the biggest hearing on the 1MDB scandal and the court is expected to hear closing allegations in October.
He rejected all the charges against him. Najib also offers the rest of the imprisonment to keep it under house arrest.
