Our media needs to change the narrative around mass shooters

One detail we should never forget among the news following the brutality in Bondi comes from an interview: Colleague of one of the alleged gunmen. The co-worker claims that as she was leaving work one day, the alleged attacker told a co-worker that he “wanted to be remembered.”
For at least ten years academics and public health officials We implored the media to refrain from naming the perpetrators of mass shootings, to avoid using their images if possible, to avoid photographs of the attacker “with a gun or in military-style clothing,” and to refrain from speculating about the motive for the attack.
