Trump reveals deal to finally END Iran War and reopen Strait of Hormuz is near ‘finalization’ after dramatic calls with world leaders

President Donald Trump said the Iran peace deal was “substantially negotiated” after a “very good meeting” with world leaders, but the final hurdles have not yet been cleared.

The 79-year-old leader, who joined Truth Social at 16.30 on Saturday, said that his meeting with Gulf leaders was positive and that the agreement was mostly negotiated, but “it is expected to be finalized” between the United States, Iran and mediators.

He also met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and said the meeting went “very well.”

‘Final aspects and details of the agreement are currently being discussed and will be announced shortly,’ he wrote.

‘Alongside many elements of the agreement, the Strait of Hormuz will also be opened.’

The announcement came just hours after Vice President J.D. Vance returned to the White House ahead of a critical phone call with war negotiators; President Donald Trump said it was 50/50 on accepting a peace deal or ‘flying Iran to the kingdom’.

Sources told Reuters early on Saturday that the peace deal would come in three phases: a formal end to the war, a resolution of the Strait of Hormuz crisis and a 30-day window for a broader agreement.

Two Pakistani sources involved in the negotiations had previously said that the negotiated agreement was ‘comprehensive enough to end the war’.

One of the Pakistani sources said there was no guarantee that the US would accept the agreement. If the United States and Iran reach an agreement, the memorandum of understanding would lead to new talks after the holiday ends on Friday.

An Arab official told Reuters that Trump will hold a phone call on Saturday with leaders from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey and Pakistan.

Pakistan’s mediation effort aims to narrow differences between Iran and the United States after weeks of war that has left most of the vital Hormuz waterway closed to shipping despite a tense ceasefire and roiled global energy markets.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio repeated Trump’s demands: ‘Iran can never have nuclear weapons. The Straits must be opened without tolls. ‘They need to hand over their enriched uranium.’

Speaking from India earlier today, Rubio said: ‘There may be news later today… This problem needs to be solved.’

Earlier on Saturday, Trump mocked the war-torn country by sharing a map of the Middle East with Iran covered in an American flag, calling it the United States of the Middle East.

The president had told Axios on Saturday morning that it was “absolutely 50/50” on whether he would accept the latest peace deal or “fly them to the kingdom,” media reported.

“I think one of two things is going to happen: Either I’m going to hit them harder than they’ve ever hit them before, or we’re going to sign a good deal,” Trump said.

‘Some people prefer to make a deal, while others prefer to restart the war.’

There is hope that a final decision on the draft agreement prepared by Pakistan could come within 48 hours after both sides review it, according to two officials and a diplomat who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity.

They said US Vice President J.D. Vance and envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner played an important role in closing the remaining gaps, and Qatar played a key role by sending a senior official to Tehran to support Pakistan’s mediation efforts.

Still, both Iran and the United States have emphasized their key positions and warned of risks of renewed attacks.

Iranian state television quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei as describing the draft as a ‘framework agreement’ and added: ‘We want it to include the main issues necessary to end the imposed war and other issues that are of vital importance to us.

‘Details are then discussed within a reasonable period of 30 to 60 days, resulting in a final agreement.’

The war against Iran has been mostly quiet since early April, when a temporary ceasefire was agreed, but a more permanent peace has yet to be achieved.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said “slight progress” had been made in peace talks, just days after Trump said he was postponing a military strike against the Islamic Republic because “serious negotiations” were ongoing.

Trump has been threatening for weeks that the ceasefire reached in mid-April could end if Iran does not make a deal, with changing parameters like the agreement.

Rubio said he didn’t want to exaggerate the progress and that ‘there is some movement and that’s good.’

There have been repeated claims of progress in recent weeks, but no agreement has been reached.

Trump repeatedly set deadlines for Tehran and then backtracked. However, he had previously stated that he would postpone military action to allow the talks to conclude, only to return and launch a strike.

Retired U.S. Marine Gen. Kirk Lippold told Fox News Friday night that he believes renewed combat operations are on the horizon, defiantly saying “it’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when.”

‘I think President Trump is now giving the US military the opportunity to rearm, refuel and be ready for combat operations,’ he said.

Lippold said that Admiral Cooper, the senior US military officer overseeing the Iran War, briefed Trump and signaled that military attacks could be renewed.

‘At the end of the day, I think the Iranians now understand that we are going to collapse their economy and potentially collapse their economic future,’ he continued.

‘And what we need to do is create the conditions for the Iranian people to rise up once again.’
