‘Make this happen!!’: Pop sensation Ed Sheeran urged to try iconic Aussie snag from Bunnings while on Down Under tour

Australian fans of pop star Ed Sheeran have banded together to encourage the megastar to try one of Australia’s iconic snacks on his tour Down Under.

After performing some of her hit songs on stage at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane last week, the gingerbread singer donned her iconic straw Bunnings hat to the roaring delight of the audience.

“Looks like I need to have a sausage sizzle when I get to Melbourne,” Sheeran said, before continuing his show, guitar in hand, straw hat in place.

The comments section of the night’s TikTok video went wild, with fans tagging Bunnings and Sheeran.

One user responded: “Make this happen!!” wrote.

More suggested her local Bunnings for her next surprise stop, with another user writing: “Melbourne can’t wait.”

Among those looking for the British pop sensation to taste a slice of pure Aussie culture is the non-profit cat and dog rescue organisation, Sally’s Cat and Kitten Rescue in Altona.

The rescue, which has helped more than 1,500 pets find forever homes in the surrounding suburbs of Altona North for 16 years, will host a barbecue rally at Altona Bunnings on Saturday for a visit from the well-known “cat daddy” star.

Some fans were particularly hopeful after Sheeran unexpectedly stopped by the Queensland town of Ipswich, sharing the name of the stars’ British hometown and townspeople campaigning for him to drop by for almost a year.

9 News reports that the town has a huge mural dedicated to Sheeran, featuring the star’s profile next to the town’s Ipswich name.

They also named a beer called ‘Beer-an’ after him at a local pub, and draped the pop star in mayoral chains, giving him the title of Mayor of Ipswich, Australia.

The British star will perform live at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium this week as part of her Loop tour, her sixth concert tour in Australia and New Zealand to celebrate the singer’s eighth studio album, Play.
