Central Asia’s biggest data center coming up in Astana; can open up opportunities for India

Construction, Central Asia’s First Level IV Data Center, the Kazakh capital, led by Akashi Data Center and began to complete in the beginning of 2026. The facility doubled Kazakhstan’s existing 3,800 shelf capacity and hosts 4,000 server shelves. The center needs to deal with the problem of information processing power of the country.

This can open opportunities for India for a CT and technology giant willing to offer expertise from fintech to the region.

Level IV certificate provides less than 26 minutes deduction per year, which is very important for sectors such as finance, banking and government. The project is expected to create up to 10,000 business and increase economic growth.
The center will increase the cyber domination of Kazakhstan by ensuring safe local data storage and protection from external threats.

Combined with the infrastructure developed with the Astana International Finance Center (AIFC), AFC), Astana Hub and Freedom Telecom, the project aims to attract global technology giants such as Amazon, Alibaba and Netflix while the project creates new opportunities for local talent and relevant industries.
