Trump Fires 10% Tariff Bomb On 8 European Countries For Opposing His Greenland Purchase Dream | World News

US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he will impose a 10% tariff on imports from selected European countries, effective February 1, 2026. The decision was announced in a post on the Truth Social platform, describing it as an important step towards “World Peace”.

Donald Trump said in his post, “Starting February 1, 2026, a 10% customs duty will be collected from all the above-mentioned countries (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Finland) on all goods sent to the United States.”

Additionally, “On June 1, 2026, the Tariff will be increased to 25%. This Tariff shall be due and payable until an Agreement for the Full and Complete acquisition of Greenland is reached.”

This announcement, which is a major step towards Trump’s plans to purchase Greenland, comes after Trump recently announced a 25% tariff on countries doing business with Iran.

He continued in his post: “We have provided financial support to Denmark, all countries of the European Union and others for years without charging duties or any other fees. Now, centuries later, it is time for Denmark to give back – World Peace is at stake! China and Russia want Greenland and there is nothing Denmark can do about it.”

Citing the national security of the United States, Trump justified the action by saying, ‘Necessary for the Safety, Security and Survival of our Planet.’

“These countries that are playing this very dangerous game have posed a level of risk that is not defensible or sustainable. Therefore, in order to maintain Global Peace and Security, it is imperative that strong measures be taken to bring this potentially dangerous situation to a swift and unquestioned end,” Trump said. It targets eight selected European countries.

This Tariff shall be due and payable until an Agreement for the Full and Complete acquisition of Greenland is reached. The United States has been trying to accomplish this process for more than 150 years. US President Donald Trump added that many Presidents have tried this and for good reasons, but Denmark has always refused.

Donald Trump said the purchase of Greenland was extremely important. “Now, with the Golden Dome and Modern Day Weapon Systems, both Offensive and Defensive, the need to ACHIEVE is particularly important,” the President added.

“The United States is open to immediate negotiations with Denmark and/or any of these countries that put so much at risk, despite everything we have done for them for decades, including maximum protection,” he emphasized.

The statement also emphasized that the United States was ready to negotiate with Denmark or any interested country and signaled a major diplomatic move towards the capture of Greenland.
