“Will Comment On Initiating Action Against CM’S Son At An Appropriate Time,” Said KPCC Chief

BENGALUR: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Thursday slammed Congress MLC Dr. Yathindra refused to comment on initiating disciplinary action against Siddaramaiah.
He, however, stated “I don’t want to comment anything now. I don’t want to be a part of the media (over the issue)” and adding he said “I will discuss at an appropriate time.”
Speaking on the sidelines of a public event at Raibagh in Belagavi district on Wednesday, Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah commented on the leadership in Karnataka and categorically rejected the change of guard.
Earlier, in his speech at the podium, he had stated that his father was in the final stage of his political career and that he was looking for a progressive and value-oriented leader to replace him in the party. Yathindra supported Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi to take over the reins from his father and lead the party from the front.
Recently, Congress MLA Basavaraj Shivaganga, representing Channagiri Assembly seat in Davangere district, was issued a show-cause notice by the KPCC disciplinary committee. The justification for the demonstration stated that the statement regarding the change of guard in Karnataka caused embarrassment to the party and amounted to party indiscipline. Channagiri MLA had stated that DK Shivakumar will replace Siddaramaiah as the Chief Minister in the coming days and a show notice will be sent to him thereupon.
Congress leader and former Lok Sabha LR Shivarame Gowda and Ramanagara MLA Iqbal Hussain were given a token service for their statements on the change of guard in Karnataka and these leaders supported DK Shivakumar as Chief Minister in place of Siddaramaiah.
