Bihar Polls a Battle of Vikaas vs Vinaash

Aurangabad: BJP president JP Nadda on Thursday said the assembly elections in Bihar will be a fight between NDA’s ‘Vikaas’ (development) and INDIA bloc’s ‘Vinaash’ (destruction).
Addressing a rally in Aurangabad district, Nadda harshly criticized the Congress, accusing it of being a “parasitic party that takes out junior alliance partners”.
The senior BJP leader attacked the RJD, saying that the Lalu Prasad-led party represents ‘Rangdari’ (extortion), ‘Jungle raj’ (anarchy) and ‘Dadagiri’ (intimidation).
Downplaying RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s promise to provide employment to youth and control migration, he said such remarks by RJD reminded him of the party’s alleged involvement in land-for-work scam.
Criticizing RJD’s poll promise to provide government jobs to every family in Bihar, Nadda sought to know where funds would be found to pay salaries.
He also criticized the RJD for ticketing Osama Shahab, son of late Md Shahabuddin, a gangster-turned-politician, in the upcoming elections, saying this shows how worried the party is for Bihar.
“RJD has fielded Shahabuddin’s son…how can it ensure the security of the people of Bihar if it fields such candidates? Lalu’s RJD represents Rangdari, Jungleraj and Dadagiri,” he said.
RJD fielded Shahab from Raghunathpur assembly constituency in Siwan district. Nadda claimed that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had saved Bihar from ‘jungleraj’ in the last 20 years. “The fight in this election is between ‘Vikaas’ and ‘Vinaash’,” he said.
“The people of Bihar can never forget forest raj. During Lalu Prasad’s tenure, people from Bihar had to migrate to other states. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the people of Bihar are witnessing growth. The state is moving towards continuous development,” he said.
“The NDA government in Bihar has done a lot for the state in recent years. Bihar’s railway budget has been increased almost 10 times by the Centre. Also, out of the total 44 Vande Bharat trains introduced by the Center recently, 26 are for Bihar alone,” he said.
He also added that the Ministry of Railways has also increased the number of special trains to 12 thousand this time to accommodate the influx of passengers during the Chhath festival.
