After the Indian women’s cricket team’s historic win in the 2025 World Cup, many Bollywood actors echoed the celebrations and congratulated the Champions.

Diwali festivities culminated in grand celebrations as the Indian women’s team registered a historic win during the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Finals. Celebrations broke out in the metropolitan hub of Mumbai, the entertainment capital of India, as the team edged out South Africa in the Finals held at the DY Patil Stadium in Nerul, Navi Mumbai. Bollywood too soon joined the celebrations as Vicky Kaushal, Anushka Sharma and Shraddha Kapoor celebrated the long-awaited victory.
Vicky Kaushal took to the Stories section of Instagram and praised Indian batsman Shafali Verma for her match-winning performance. He shared a photo of the cricketer and wrote: “He made the game. He changed the game. What a rockstar! @shafalisverma17”.
Shraddha took to Instagram’s Stories section and shared a screenshot of the winning moment. She wrote: “For decades sir parents have experienced what 1983 felt like Humein humara yeh wala an dene ke liye. Thank you girls A This is for generations.”
Actress Anushka Sharma, who was expected to write the script of Indian speed legend Jhulan Goswami in the shelved movie ‘Chakda ‘Xpress’, also wished the girls “significant success”. The actress, who is also the wife of Indian batting legend Virat Kohli, wrote on her Instagram Story, “You champions! A HUGE achievement.”
Team India’s victory in the finals healed a generation that had endured and licked the wounds of the ICC Men’s World Cup 2003 and ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 for a long time. He lived his dreams of ICC Men’s World Cup 2011, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2007, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 and heard the legend as Shraddha said stories of ICC Men’s World Cup 1983. This victory heralds a new dawn in the era of women’s sports, appearing on the covers and going straight into the history books.
