Rubio Loses Cool When Confronted With Major Flaw Of Venezuela Strike
Marco Rubio was visibly disturbed by the reminder that despite the capture of former president Nicolás Maduro, the dictator’s regime is still in power in Venezuela.
“I wonder why the Trump administration decided to leave [Maduro’s regime] The host, Margaret Brennan, was intact and arrested only Nicolás Maduro and his wife. Face the Nation On Sunday, Maduro highlighted others in his government who have been indicted in the U.S.
“I’m confused. Are they still wanted by the United States? If you are eliminating the narcoterrorist regime, why haven’t you arrested them?” he asked.

Rubio responded, “Are you confused? I don’t know why this is confusing to you,” to which Brennan echoed: “They’re still in power.”
The secretary of state lashed out at the CBS News host, saying there were enough “complaints” about the capture of just one Venezuelan politician and that the military operation was difficult enough as it was.
“You’re going to go in and suck out five people? They’re already complaining about this one operation. Imagine the howl everyone would hear if we actually had to go in there for four days to get four more people,” Rubio said.

“We have the highest priority. The number one person on the list was the man who claimed to be the president of the country when he was not, and he was arrested along with his wife, who was also accused. This was a very complex and frankly complex operation.”
While Brennan acknowledged the complexity of the raid, Rubio continued: “It’s not easy to land a helicopter in the middle of the nation’s largest military base. The guy was living on a military base. Get off in three minutes, kick in his door, grab him, handcuff him, read him his rights, and leave the country without losing any Americans or American assets.”
“This is not an easy task. You’re asking me why we don’t do this in five other places at the same time? I mean, that’s ridiculous.”
Rubio said people were “already complaining” about Maduro and there would be more “howling” if others were caught. /CBS News
Rubio persisted in fawning over the operation, adding: “I think this was, you know, one of the most daring, complex, sophisticated missions this country has undertaken in a very long time. A great credit to the U.S. military personnel who did this. It was incredible and a tremendous success.”
“And today, he was an accused drug trafficker, an accused drug trafficker, who is not the legitimate president of Venezuela, who we do not recognize, who the Biden administration does not recognize, who is not recognized by sixty-odd countries, who is not recognized by the European Union, and who many countries in Latin America do not recognize. He was arrested, his wife was arrested…”
Brennan intervened and once again asked about the remaining collaborators. “True, but the other accused persons are still in place, so that is the purpose of my questioning there. You mentioned that you are not the legitimate president…”

Rubio also intervened and accused: “So you wanted us to install five more military bases?”
“No, I’m asking why you chose this to be the limit of military operation. You just stated that Maduro is not the legitimate president,” said Brennan.
“He was claiming to be the president,” Rubio said, speaking again in place of Brennan, adding: “He was the biggest target.”
