PM Modi honours Karpoori Thakur on birth anniversary

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tribute to former Bihar chief minister Karpoori Thakur on his birth anniversary.

Modi said upliftment of the exploited, deprived and weak sections of society has always been at the center of Thakur’s policy.

“On the occasion of the birth anniversary of former chief minister of Bihar, Bharat Ratna Jananayak Karpoori Thakur ji, I extend my humble greetings,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X. he said.
The Prime Minister said Thakur will forever remain memorable and exemplary for his simplicity and dedication to public service.

Thakur, popularly known as Jananayak, was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna in 2024.
