Kollumedu Government High School transforms into a Green School

The government high school in the Tirallur region has now won a full facelift from being a school without a compound and non -cattle.

The first green school of the region and now there is a green fence, heat -absorbing walls, sun reflective coated roof and zero carbon footprint institution.

The school also includes herbal, vegetables and ornamental gardens, Vermi-Compost Cut, Rain Water Collection System and LED lighting. The studies were carried out with funds from the Environmental Department and the Regional Administration and CSR funds from Aptus Value Residential Finance India Limited. First, Sanitation (India) was the application partner.

Regional collector M. Prathap said that three schools in Tirmidard were raised as greener schools and that administrative sanctions have been recently published. The schools in Thirumazhisai, Thirukandalam and Kuthambakkam will be part of this initiative. The authority added that a total of ₹ 30 Lakh will be allocated from government funds and the rest will be collected from corporate social responsibility funds.

Sruthi Saravanan at the Green Department of the Green Member of the Regional Regional Region said, ık We carried out various awareness programs for students and teachers about how these systems can be sustained. We focused on their age and we made teachers and students responsible for each concept.

Sanitation First (India) General Manager Padmapriya TS said that green schools will definitely make better working environments for students and working environments for teachers. The aim of this project was to instill the importance of environmental protection and sustainable life.

“Children were taught about the biological varieties of the Tirmician region through wall paintings. This school is in the middle of an open area. Transformation is not remarkable. The government gave him a bio -sun system, rain water harvesting system and gardens.”
