British tourist dies after getting hair and teeth done in Turkey | World | News

A British man is thought to have died following a hair transplant and dental treatment in Türkiye. It was reported that the 36-year-old tourist came to Istanbul last week before having a hair transplant in Fulya district. Allegedly, the man was taken for dental treatment in Ayazağa District the next day.
After both treatments, the person returned to his hotel in Şişli district and is thought to have become ill there. Local sources reported that the man was taken to Seyrantepe Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital by ambulance and died there around 16.30. A Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office spokesman said: Mirror: “We are in contact with local authorities following the death of a British national in Türkiye.”
It was reported that his body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy and delivered to his home by his family.
While no information about the cause of death has been disclosed, it is thought that an investigation has been launched.
News of the 36-year-old man’s death comes just months after a British tourist died following a £1,500 hair transplant in Türkiye.
Martyn Latchman, 38, died after being admitted to hospital and following a five-hour surgery on July 28.
The employees at the clinic were questioned about the death by the Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate.
According to the Turkish Health Travel Council, more than one million tourists visit Türkiye every year for hair transplantation; Many Brits travel there due to its reputation and low costs.
While the cost of a hair transplant in the UK is between £3,000 and £10,000, the cost of a hair transplant in Türkiye can be as low as £1,500.
