CPC Walks Into BJP HQ: Inside The Rare China-India Party-Level Talks In New Delhi | World News

New Delhi: Adding another step to the ongoing political communication between the two parties, a delegation from the Communist Party of China visited the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters in New Delhi on Monday. The visit focused on strengthening communication and cooperation. The visiting delegation was headed by Sun Haiyan, deputy minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC).
Sharing the details of the meeting with X, BJP’s external affairs department head Vijay Chauthaiwale said that the interaction focused on strengthening direct interaction and dialogue between the BJP and the CPC.
“A delegation from the Communist Party of China led by Mr. Sun Haiyan (Deputy Minister, IDCPC) visited the BJP headquarters today. During the discussion, a BJP delegation led by party General Secretary Shri Arun Singh Ji discussed at length ways to enhance inter-party communication between the BJP and CPC. Chinese Ambassador to India HE Xu Feihong also joined the delegation,” he said.

BJP National General Secretary and Member of Parliament Arun Singh also appreciated the visit and shared his perspective on the participation through a separate post.
“Ms. Sun Haiyan, Deputy Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC), visited the BJP headquarters today. During the meeting, we discussed how to improve communication and interaction between the BJP and the CPC,” he wrote.
The political interaction takes place at a time when cultural and civilizational exchanges between India and China also attract attention. In a recent development, Indian Consul General in Shanghai Pratik Mathur visited the historic Tiger Hill Pagoda in Suzhou to coincide with the opening of the major exhibition in India titled ‘Light and Lotus: Relics of the Awakened’. According to the Indian Embassy in Shanghai, the exhibition was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Tiger Hill Pagoda, located in the ancient city of Suzhou, is recognized as the oldest and largest Buddhist pagoda south of the Yangtze River and is considered a landmark of Buddhist architecture, history and art.
During his visit, the Consul General interacted with members of the local community, including Buddhist monks and Friends of India. He highlighted the return of Lord Buddha’s sacred Piprahwa Ratna to India after 127 years and described it as a moment of pride for India’s spiritual and civilizational heritage.
The event also featured presentations and cultural shows inspired by Lord Buddha’s teachings. According to the Indian Embassy in Shanghai, these performances reflected the strong cultural resonance and shared heritage highlighted by the Piprahwa Relics exhibition.
