Munambam residents will not be evicted, Kerala CM Satheesan assures
Satheesan said at a press conference here, “We have decided that these victims will not be evacuated from where they are. They will be protected. They will get their lands. We will fight for this until the end.”
He said the stand was not new and was consistently maintained by the UDF even when it was in Opposition.

“This was our stance when we were in opposition and we maintain the same stance now,” the Prime Minister said.
Satheesan also alleged that the Wakf Board’s decision to register the disputed land on the UMEED portal was politically motivated.
Claiming that the board appointments were made during the tenure of the previous LDF government, he alleged that the move was aimed at preventing the current UDF government from resolving the issue “within 10 minutes” as promised earlier. His remarks came a day after Kerala State Wakf Board chairman K S Hamza reiterated that the disputed land in Munambam was Wakf property and said it was registered on the UMEED portal along with other Wakf assets in the state.

The Munambam land dispute has emerged as a politically sensitive issue in Kerala, with many residents expressing concern over the ownership status of their land.
The BJP supported the protesting residents and claimed that the amended Wakf Act would help address their concerns.
