Macaulay Culkin is among the famous faces who heartily commemorated Catherine O’Hara, who died at the age of 71 on Friday.
The Daily Mail confirmed that the star passed away at his home in Los Angeles ‘following a brief illness’. its cThe cause of death was not disclosed.
O’Hara played Culkin’s mother in the first two Home Alone films and was best known for her role as Moira Rose on Schitt’s Creek, for which she won an Emmy for her role at the 2020 awards ceremony.
The actress was also known for her roles in films such as Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Best in Show and A Mighty Wind.
She recently starred as Patty Leigh in Apple TV+’s The Studio.
The legendary actress has appeared alongside Hollywood luminaries; many of whom took to social media to pay tribute to the star following his death.
‘Mother. “I thought we had time,” Culkin wrote alongside two photos — one of the duo from Home Alone and a more recent photo after the duo reunited on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Pedro Pascal, who starred with the actor in the second season of HBO’s series The Last of Us, wrote on Instagram.
‘Oh, being close to you is genius. We are forever grateful. There is less light in my world, this lucky world that has you will always keep you. Always,” she wrote with a heart emoji.
She concluded the post with the words: ‘The One and ONLY Catherine O’Hara,’ which she accompanied with a sweet moment of the two embracing.
Justin Theroux, who starred with O’Hara in the 2024 movie Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, shared a photo from the star’s chair on the set with his name written on it.
‘Oh Catherine. ‘You will be greatly missed,’ he simply wrote.
Hilaria Baldwin was among those who paid tribute. In 1988, she shared an Instagram story featuring both O’Hara and her husband Alec Baldwin in a behind-the-scenes interview for Beetlejuice.
