Two men arrested after pedestrian in his 80s killed in collision

Two men have been arrested after a pedestrian in his 80s died in a collision in Gillingham, Kent.

Kent Police said the incident on the A289 Gads Hill involved a gray Mercedes estate and a pedestrian at around 12.10pm on Monday, December 29.

The vehicle reportedly continued on its way and was later found on Eastcourt Lane, where the two occupants left on foot.

The pedestrian, a man in his 80s, was carried by the car and was found on the ground in Grange Road.

The man was treated by the South East Coast Ambulance Service and died at the scene.

Later the same day, two men were arrested in connection with the collision; one was a 29-year-old from Chatham and the other was a 28-year-old of no fixed address. They remain in custody.
