Rockingham company wins contract to run Rise cafe in Maylands

A Rockingham -based company won the contract for a café business owned by Bayswater in Maylands.
Ambrosia Catering & Event Rental received an agreement to manage Rise Recreation Center Cafe at the city’s July 1 Council meeting.
He was one of the three groups who raised his hands for the job. Others were KBD PTY Ltd, who operated a café in the Maylands -based Grow & Grind and Bayswater.
Rise Cafe is empty since 2021.
A city assessment panel sent 92 out of 100 out of the Ambrosia in front of others.
A city report said that Ambrosia has been operating since 2002 and provides cafes and canteen services for high school, industrial sites, small home parties, corporate events and weddings.
The KBD runs a cafe in the South. Grow & Grind is a social initiative that says it exceeds the existing coffee minibus.
At the meeting by Cale Black, who wanted to run to the council in the October elections, the Council was questioned why local operators were not preferred.
Mayor Filomena Piffaretti said that the city is thinking of local business for supplies, but it is not valid for commercial rentals and local weighting is not part of the election criteria.
CR Nater, the city can look at local businesses in the future, he said.
He said that the community has been waiting for a long time for Rise Cafe to be open.
“This special applicant was extremely strong about the criteria, and what we really need in that place is an extremely powerful task,” CR said.
Deputy Mayor Elli Petersen-Pik, the city has missed an opportunity to benefit from the area in the best way, he said.
“I saw people come to the gym, staying, reading the newspaper, seeing coffee and lunch;
“I hope we will bring some people to stay there, and at the same time we will provide more security for this place, which is worried for some residents, so it’s a win-win.”
Ambrosia Operations Manager Jason Floyd said they wanted to turn him into something “stylish but accessible”.
“We will bring the concept of Ambrosia, but we will embrace the magnificent place by adding more local tones and colors to complete,” he said.
Orum I do some research about the customer using this entertainment area, but we aim to feed; good coffee, great options for before and after training, is also suitable for the library.
“We do not chase the mold to break the mold; we follow a good field to capture one before or after an event.”
