Man charged with stalking Sir Ed Davey and his family

A man has been accused of stalking Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey and his family for several months.

Inigo Rowland, who is also accused of possessing a pocket knife, is accused of turning up “unannounced” and on “numerous” occasions at the Kingston and Surbiton MP’s south-west London home between June and October, according to a court docket.

The Met Police said the 58-year-old, from Surbiton, appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on October 7 and was remanded in custody.

Sir Ed, 59, and his wife Emily have a 17-year-old son, John, who has a neurological condition and a learning disability, and a daughter, Ellie.

A Met Police spokesman said Mr Rowland was arrested on October 6 in connection with the offenses allegedly committed between June and October.

He will appear again at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

A spokesman for the Liberal Democrats said: “We cannot provide any details at this time; Ed’s number one priority is the safety of his family.”
