TSMC, the world’s largest contract chip manufacturer, said that a small number of its facilities in the Hsinchu science park, where it is headquartered, reached evacuation criteria after the earthquake, according to local media and press outlets.

“We are carrying out outdoor evacuations and headcounts in accordance with emergency response procedures, prioritizing staff safety. Occupational safety systems at all facilities are operating normally,” he said in a brief statement quoted by The Straits Times.
