The reports claimed that people saw that they had escaped from the region because the fire spread to Arthur’s seat.
An Edgender witness to Edinburgh Live said: “Arthur has a rapidly spreading forest fire.
“People go down from the hill to get away from him, and the smoke is really spreading fast.”

The Scottish Fire Department and Rescue Service said in a statement that was published immediately after 17:00 this evening: “The crew, Edinburgh, Holyrood Park is joining an open fire in the seat of Arthur.
“Since we have received a series of calls for this event, the members of the people do not need to warn our operation control room about this fire.”
