Rapper Maxon Margiela, whose real name is Mason Reyes, passed away at the age of 21.

The rising star, known for his viral single Austin Powers, passed away in Miami on Sunday, a week after a reported suicide attempt.

The outlet reported that Margiela was hospitalized following the attempt and later died from his injuries.

The Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed his death.

An official reason has not been announced yet.

Although she released her first project, #healthy, in November 2024, Margiela had built a significant audience on Spotify, reaching more than 100,000 monthly listeners.

He signed a deal with Columbia Records earlier this year and released his latest mixtape, Filthy, in July, followed by several new tracks in October.

In the hours after the news broke, fans showered X with tributes.
