TalkTV has suspended its programming due to Meghan Markle’s bombshell announcement. Presenter Kevin O’Sullivan called out the Duchess of Sussex’s “week from hell”. It all started with a crazy medical emergency in the Philippines. Meghan, 44, was pulled back into the soap opera, where she became estranged from her father in just eight days. 81-year-old Thomas Markle had an emergency leg amputation in the Philippines last week. Her father said he wants to meet his grandchildren, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, as well as Meghan’s husband, Prince Harry.
Kevin made the explosive remark at the Duchess, claiming her “worst nightmare has come true”. The TalkTV presenter claimed Meghan’s perfectly curated image is now unclear.
“For Meghan [Markle] “This is the apocalypse,” he commented. “His worst nightmare has come true. “His response to his father’s life-or-death drama was nothing short of disastrous.”
She continued: “These are devastating times for a woman who is obsessively involved with publicity, who puts so much effort into her carefully choreographed image.”
Kevin claimed that the “image he curated of someone with an extraordinary capacity for love and friendship has been left in ruins.”
While sources close to the Sussexes claimed Meghan was trying to reach out, news from Thomas’ bedside painted a different picture. The Duchess does not have a phone number and believes she did not have her phone with her while she was in hospital, according to the PA news agency.
Her team confirmed that she had in fact emailed her father, but the newspaper reported that she “never used email.”
“We are now told that the Duchess has located her 81-year-old parent and sent her a letter,” Kevin said.
Meghan has since allegedly deleted her father’s phone number and has made no plans to visit him.
He claimed it was a “terrible” move and asked Meghan to either call him or get on a plane to see her sick father, suggesting it “marked the end” of any relationship with her father.
Kevin suggested these events had led to a PR nightmare for the Duchess following the release of her Netflix Christmas special, With Love, Meghan.
Meghan had been estranged from her father for years following a series of disagreements, including when Thomas published photos showing her preparing for the wedding.
Thereupon, he withdrew from his daughter’s wedding a few days before the ceremony in Windsor, citing health problems.
