An old reserve teacher who was sexually assaulted to a 11 -year -old child was sentenced to 10 years in prison behind the railings.

Alley Bardfield, who replaced the Decatur public schools in Illinois, helped the police in a young child stinging operation in April 2024. He was arrested at his home in Zion.

Ultimately, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison, the loan is already detained for time – half -loan for about 18 months – and about 10 months in Macon County prison.

The judge expressed his belief that the defendant who cried and apologized during the proceedings had the potential of rehabilitation.

However, the decision led to anger among the family of the child who immediately left the courtroom after the punishment.

Diane Couri, the lawyer of Macon County, supported his proposal for a 40 -year imprisonment.

“The lawyer’s office of the Macon County state takes crimes against children very seriously and therefore proposed a suitable sentence for crime.”

“As the defendant is in a trust position as a reserve teacher, the cruelty of this crime requires an important sentence.”

The authority said that his office is “only in case of victims in cases where the victims are most vulnerable.”
