Teachers To Hold Mass Protest On March 20

Hyderabad: As the protest moves to the third phase over pay and service conditions, teachers and staff working in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, Kent Residential Schools and Samagra Shiksha will intensify their protest by calling Chalo Assembly on March 20 under the Telangana United Teachers Federation (TSUTF).
TS UTF state president Chava Ravi and general secretary A. Venkat said that a Maha Dharna will take place at Indira Park Dharna Chowk on Friday with employees demanding minimum wage, regulation of services, salaries to be kept at par with regular staff and annual increments.
They said the protest followed a phased plan. School-level demonstrations were held on March 9, and district and district protests were held on March 16. “Even after two phases, the government did not respond. That is why we are going to the Chalo Assembly on March 20,” they said.
The union warned it would announce further action if no response was received. He also asked the state government and the education department to step in and resolve the issues without delay.
