Teachers will protest outside Parliament over pay stoush; Second Story Bridge footpath reopens after eight months; Two girls reported missing in past few days

Brisbane Jelly Roll fans have been told to be wary of measles after three people who attended the October 24 Brisbane Entertainment Center show were diagnosed with measles.

Queensland Health issued a public health alert last night warning people who attended the American singer’s show to watch for symptoms for up to three weeks.

Symptoms include fever, lethargy, runny nose, moist cough and red eyes. After a few days, a red rash develops, usually starting on the face.

Anyone who thinks they have measles should organize to get tested but stay away from public places.

Two more cases unrelated to the demonstration were confirmed in the West Moreton areas of Central Queensland this week.

Queensland Chief Health Officer Dr Catherine McDougall said measles cases were increasing.

“We are now seeing higher numbers of measles cases, not just in Queensland but across the country. A total of 30 cases of measles have been reported in Queensland so far this year,” he said.
