Tech Leaders at AI Summit

New Delhi: Amid growing concerns that artificial intelligence (AI) is disrupting jobs, top tech industry leaders have a clear message for employees: “Keep calm and improve your skills.” At the AI Impact Summit 2026, they said that lifelong learning capability is required to keep up with the AI tide, and as AI continues to evolve over the next 3-5 years, there will be a lot of restructuring in the workforce.

Speaking at a session on “The Future of Employability in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”, industry leaders felt that some existing jobs may become redundant, AI will create new job opportunities and employees need to be vigilant in finding out which skills they need to upgrade.

Sanjeev Bikhchandani, Founder of Info Edge (Owner of Naukri.com) cited the example of when computers were introduced to perform functions in the bank. “Nobody lost their job and instead productivity increased,” he said.

Responding to a question on whether the adoption of AI will cost jobs, Bhikchandani’s message to the youth was: “Don’t worry about politics. Think about what you need to do so that AI doesn’t cause you to lose your job and instead helps you find a job.”

He recommended that young people learn useful AI tools.

“AI is happening, it’s brutal, if you don’t do AI, AI will be done to you… Set a personal goal to learn how to use three AI platforms in the next three months. The more you do this, the safer your job will be,” he said.

Technology industry leaders have advised professionals to adopt AI tools and adapt to emerging technologies to stay current and secure in the evolving job market.

Sateesh Seetharamiah CEO, EdgeVerve (a wholly owned subsidiary of Infosys), said AI will act as a faster talent multiplier and “lifelong learning capability” will be the key mantra to ride the AI wave.

Stating that artificial intelligence provides more productivity in businesses, he added that ultimately there must be a person who will take responsibility for the work done. “So things are not going anywhere, the nature of things will change.”

Sampark Founding Chairman Vineet Nayar said that 50 percent of existing jobs will disappear due to artificial intelligence, 50 percent more jobs will be created and this will require skilled manpower to deal with artificial intelligence.

“Artificial intelligence offers us a space to retool ourselves. But we need to understand what skills are required (in relevant professions),” Nayar said.
