Teen Ends Life Over Alleged Love Failure

Hyderabad: A 19-year-old student committed suicide at her home under Chilkalguda police station limits in Srinivasanagar after her parents restricted her from meeting her friend Jagdish, police said.
Her parents, Ramadevi and Koteswara Rao, returned home from work and became suspicious when she did not answer the doorbell. SHO V. Ramakrishna of Chilkalguda said that with the help of neighbours, they broke down the door and found him dead.
Jamina had recently completed her Secondary Secondary Year and was in love with Jagdish. Police suspect that he may have taken this drastic step after he rejected his family’s offer. Ramadevi, who filed the complaint, alleged that Jagya was responsible for her daughter’s death.
“We have registered a case of suspicious death under Article 194 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The case is under investigation. After the post-mortem report and further investigation, we will proceed as per law,” SHO Ramakrishna said.
