Teen jailed in Dubai for sex with girl is released

A British teenager, who was imprisoned in Dubai to have sex with a 17 -year -old girl, was released and returned to England.
19 -year -old Marcus Fakana from Tottenham in North London was sentenced to one year imprisonment in December after establishing a relationship in the United Arab Emirates with the British girl (UAE).
The age of consent in the UAE is 18.
The campaign group, which was detained in Dubai, said that Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum received a royal amnesty.
A Foreign and Society of Nations and Development Office (FCDO) spokesperson said: “Last week, a feast was released.
“We understand that he wants to go back to England without paying attention to the media and see his family.
“We supported him and we were in contact with them.”
A feast amnesty in Muslim countries can be given to prisoners as a jest of compassion by the ruler or President, and a way to offer individuals a second chance in religious holidays.
Mr. Fakana said that since the end of August last year, a “holiday romanticism blooms”, with another London, who has been 18 years old since then, said that he was with his family in the UAE.
When the girl’s mother returned to England, she saw the messages between the two to the UAE officials.
Mr. Fakana recently asked the Al Awir prison to be released to Sheikh Muhammad bin Rashid al Maktoum, Dubai’s ruler.
Dubai’s General Manager Radha Stirling said Mr. Fakana has “healed right now”.
The authority added: “The case attracted a significant public attention because of the guilt and disproportionate punishment of tourists.
“We believe that this case emphasizes the urgent need for protection against accelerated legal processes and unnecessary custody penalties for foreign nationals.”
“Parents should be aware that young people can be blamed in the UAE for behaviors that are not guilty at home, whether parents, whether they are a relationship, social media activity, even drinking alcohol, even drinking alcohol.” He said.
The Dubai government previously said: “According to the UAE laws, the girl is legally classified as small, and in accordance with internationally recognized procedures, her mother – as a legal guardian – has presented complaints.”
“Dubai’s legal system is determined to protect the rights of all individuals and to ensure impartial judicial proceedings.”
