Telangana factory blast: Eyewitnesses share horror stories of workers being flung 100 meters in air

A strong explosion in the chemical unit of Sigachi Industries Ltd in TaLANgana’s Pashamylaram Industrial Zone killed at least 35 people on Monday. Many of them are missing. While the fire was spread, the workers were thrown from the air and a part of the plant collapsed within a few minutes.

Eyewitnesses in the field said the power was ruthless. He described that some bodies were thrown away. “The workers were thrown into the air and a few meters away, Sou South said. Most of the victims were Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and migrant workers from other states.

On Monday, TaLangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha confirmed that about 90 workers were inside when the explosion was hit as reported by PTI. “The explosion was completely in the air, and the power of the explosion was so intense that some workers were thrown into the air and fell about 100 meters away,” he said.
Patancheru Mla Mahipal Redy stopped at the scene and accused the company directly. “The company works without security measures. Many people were injured and died,” he said to journalists. He also claimed that the firm had kept the real death fee.

TELANGANA Factory Blast: How did it happen?

The explosion hit around 9.20 in the morning in a drying unit. Sigachi Industries said in a statement, “Event, Pashamylaram, Faz-1 Haydarabad factory around 09.20 around our factory,” he said.

State Disaster Response and Fire Department General Manager Yagi Redy said, “According to industrial experts, the event occurred during the air use/drying of microcrystalline cellulose. We are not sure of the number of people under the debris right now.” He added later, “Today, around 9.48 am, there was an explosion in the drying unit in Sigachi Pharma Company. The explosion caused fire. A total of 12 people were killed and 35 people were injured.”
The company announced that a full production has been stopped in the Haydarabad unit for 90 days for repair. “In addition to human losses, the event also damaged some auxiliary equipment and civil structures in the facility.” He said. “The exact number of wounded wounded is currently confirmed, while the welfare of our staff continues to be our most important priority.”
This unit produces approximately 6,000 metric tons MCC each year – about one third of the company capacity.
After the explosion, the thick smoke spread to the area. He complained about many local breathing problems. Rescue teams were trapped in the search for workers as a precaution while the residents began to evacuate the residents.

PM, ministers mourn their deaths and promise assistance

In December, this very Sigachi factory cleared a security check by the Factories Department. However, it was closed indefinitely after the explosion on Monday. Inspectors say there are no very flammable solvents near the dryers. B Factories Director Raja Gopal said to TOI: “Our pre -findings show that the explosion is caused by pressure accumulation in air transport in the dryer. Equipment may experience blockages from materials, which may cause severe pressure accumulation. This may have triggered an explosion.”

Hydraa commissioner Av Ranganath said, “Intense heat built in the container has led to an explosion affecting an area up to 50 meters.”

Rescue teams pass through the wreckage, workers’ families are waiting for news. This explosion reappeared the risks of workers in the industrial centers of TaLangana every day. Now many ask if something really changes.
