Dream11 in talks with BCCI to exit ₹358 crore jersey sponsorship after gaming ban

The online game law, in which the government has just entered into force, prohibits the promotion, advertisement and sponsorship of real money game platforms. Dream11, who signed a three -year agreement with BCCI in 2023, said that sponsorship may not be possible under the new framework.

Dream11 is one of the largest advertisers in India. In FY23, the parent company Dream Sports spent about 2,964 crore for advertising and promotions, which an increase of 37% compared to the previous year.
The new law is expected to significantly disrupt the advertising market. Industrial managers estimate that fantasy sports platforms spend more than 5,000 Crore a year for collective marketing and advertising.
