Telangana High Court Clears Group-1 Recruitment; Sets Aside Single Judge Order

Hyderabad: In a major relief for Group-1 freshers, the Telangana High Court on Thursday set aside the single judge’s order which had set aside the general rank list of Group-1 posts and directed re-evaluation of main exam answer sheets.

A division bench overruled the earlier decision by allowing appeals from the selected candidates, paving the way for the continuation of the recruitment process.

Reacting to the verdict, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy welcomed the verdict and termed it as a victory for justice. In a statement, he said that despite various attempts and alleged conspiracies to stop government recruitment, the State was successful in its legal battle.

Congratulating the 563 successful Group-1 candidates, the Prime Minister noted that they will be the first batch of Group-1 officers appointed after the formation of Telangana. He called on them to dedicate themselves to the task of rebuilding and strengthening the State.

“I wholeheartedly welcome the Supreme Court’s verdict on Group-1 appointments. Despite numerous attempts to block the recruitment, we overcame the conspiracies and achieved victory in the legal battle,” the Prime Minister said.
