Tension in BJP-AGP Alliance in Assam

Guwahati: In the midst of the unification of the ruling BJP to reinforce the ongoing political work against domestic voters, the anti -BJP throne concentrated again, and the base workers, the BJP’s ally, began to stretch their muscles for a muscular share in the 2026 meeting survey.
In the 2021 parliamentary polls, the AGP objected to 29 seats and won nine. The party has been an alliance with BJP since 2014.
In the ruling BJP, with an aggressive attitude towards Bangladesh citizens, intensifying evacuation driving forces-it is seen as an attempt to reinforce the indigenous image of the domestic image-AGP workers, Majuli, Lakhimpur, Bihpuria domestic voters such as Bihpuria, Ranganadi and Nalynpur began to determine allegations. In addition, six parliamentary seats in the Kamrup regions are trying to compete.
Although AGP President and Minister Atiul Bora tries to soothe the increasing unrest among fundamental workers through several rounds of interviews, a large part of the workers is worried about the declining influence of the party between domestic voters. Many of them are afraid that the anti -Btaning appearance to BJP may cost AGP. Sources said that they are uncomfortable with the silence of the party leadership, especially the silence of the key issues and the adaptation of BJP’s line.
However, Bora has recently claimed that there was no rebellion within the party. Mr Bora, who caused a senior delegation of the party leaders to the new Delhi and met with the Union Interior Minister Amit Shah after a rebellion -like situation between the base workers, said, “Some leaders are willing for these seats. There is always a giving and taking in an alliance.”
The party sources showed that the meeting with Mr. Shah aims to assure the party workers that their concerns were discussed, and that the AGP delegation led by Mr. Bora informed the BJP leadership in detail in the political scenario of the state. Other members of the delegation include the Minister of State and the Chairman of the Labor, Keshab Mahanta, the newly elected Rajya Sabha Deputy Birendra Prasad Baishya and Senior Leader and Lok Sabha Deputy Phani Bhusan Choudury.
Sources said that the meeting on Thursday focused on the current political developments in Assem, the implementation of central plans in the state, and the role of regional parties in shaping the future strategy of the alliance before the next elections.
Although an official statement has not been published, party leaders said that discussions refer to regional concerns, administrative coordination and the forward -looking aspect of the alliance. Mr. Bora described the meeting as a constructor and accepted the role of Mr. Shah in maintaining political stability in the region.
