Tesla exec Raj Jegannathan leaves automaker after 13 years

Tesla’s Executive Vice President Raj Jegannathan, a 13-year veteran of the automaker, announced his departure from the company on Monday. LinkedIn post.

Jegannathan’s most recent role was vice president of information technology, artificial intelligence infrastructure, business applications and information security. In his brief LinkedIn post, Jegannathan wrote: “Tesla’s journey has been one of constant evolution.”

Last year, following the dismissal of North American sales leader Troy Jones, Jegannathan was tasked with leading the electric vehicle maker’s sales team. Tesla’s underlying automotive sales were in decline; The brand’s reputation has plummeted in part due to its outdated electric vehicle lineup, as well as consumer backlash against CEO Elon Musk for his inflammatory political rhetoric, work for the Trump administration, and support of far-right figures and parties around the world.

Tesla and Jegannathan did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Tesla’s 2025 revenue fell 3%, the first time it has fallen in history. The company is under pressure to revive EV sales and finally deliver its long-promised driverless systems and vehicles that can carry passengers without needing a human at the steering wheel.
