TGHRC Takes Serious Note Of Adulterated Toddy Incident; Seeks Report From Govt.

Haydarabad: The TELANGANA Human Rights Commission (TGHRC), who seriously notes the deaths due to the consumption of TODDY with participation, asked the chief secretary to submit a comprehensive report on the incident on August 20 from the Revenue (Prohibition and Consumption) department.
As reported in the complaints and news articles published in various newspapers, he asked the secretary to present the factual verification of the incident, including the number of deaths and people. The Commission requested the details of the action taken by the Income (Prohibition and Consumption) department, including any department investigation, arrests, sealed Toddy stores or disciplinary case initiated against faulty officials.
Toddy wanted to know the preventive mechanisms throughout the state to regulate touch and distribution, and if any, to monitor and prevent the confusion of Toddy to prevent the recurrence of such events, including compensation to the victims.
