TGSRTC Launches No Phone While Driving Rule in 11 Depots

Haydarabad: The TaLangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) brought a new policy aimed at increasing passenger safety by restricting drivers’ mobile phones carrying mobile phones while in office. The movement follows concerns about the accidents caused by drivers talking on the phones during trips.

As part of the initiative, the drivers will be asked to turn off their mobile phones and deposit them to the Depot Security Officer before the mission. The phones can be collected after completing the shift. In order to address emergency situations or communication from families, each warehouse will provide a special contact number that information will be transferred to drivers through bus conductors.

The scheme will be applied on a pilot basis in a warehouse from each of the 11 regions of the company: Farooqnagar (Haydarabad), Kukatpally (Secunderabad), Kollapur (Mahabubnagar), Sanggarereddy (Medak), Miryalaguda (Nalgonda), Vikarabad (Nalgonda), Vikarrabad (Nalgonda) (Karimnagar), Khamam (Khamam), Kamarteddy (Nizamabad) and Parkala (Warangal). Based on the results, all warehouses will be extended gradually.
