Nation must stand united for countering cybersecurity threats: Union Home Secretary

Union Home Minister Govind Mohan said here on Friday that the nation must unite to combat cybersecurity challenges.

He was speaking after the inauguration of COCON 2025, the annual cyber security conference organized by the Kerala Police here.

Mohan pointed out that cyber crimes are increasing globally even if defensive measures are taken.
He said crimes such as digital arrest as well as cyber-dependent crimes are increasing.

He said that investigative agencies should act carefully, but the public should also be alert against cybercrimes.


The inaugural session was chaired by MP Hibi Eden, while State Police Chief and DGP Revada Chandrashekhar delivered the opening speech. Mohan also published a booklet titled “National Strategy Against Child Sexual Exploitation and Exploitation” issued by the Kerala police. COCON is an annual conference that discusses topics such as information security, data protection and privacy.

People from various corporate companies, various investigative institutions, academia, research organizations and government organizations, including cyber security experts, are attending the meeting.

Various technical, non-technical, legal and social events are organized within the scope of the event.
